The English Gardener

James Treacy. The English Gardener immigrated to the US in 2005 with his wife Julia and baby daughter Tiger Lily and started his own landscaping and gardening business in Bellingham, WA. In England James worked on Estate gardens for more than ten years. Some of the gardens he worked on are popular tourist destination and award winning gardens. Including the world famous Royal Victoria Park, James was part of a team that helped the park win the prestigious Britain in bloom award. He also worked for the family of Lord Methuen of Corsham Court and Sir Major James Fuller of Neston Estate Park and Fuller Beer. Since moving to Bellingham he has had  one of his gardens featured in the 2006 Annual Whatcom Horticulture Society tour of gardens ( this garden is available for private tours for prospective clients),James brings his extensive garden knowledge of traditional and contemporary gardening and landscaping skills to the Great Northwest.

Joel Pense- Second in Command and rock wall builder extraordinaire. Joel has over seven years of experience building rock walls, terraces, patios and water features. He has taken several garden courses and dreams of one day becoiming a full time landscape designer. He is an incredible artist in the garden and we feel lucky to have him as part of our team.

The rest of the team - We also have a team of dedicated and hardworking weeders and laborers that work on a seasonal basis. They have all gone through training and a period of working under either James or Joel. We stand behind our seasnal workers and it shows when they come back year after year! They are a great group and we are thrilled that they choose to spend their summers working for us!
